Leni’s dad is a robot. He twitches when he walks, never smiles and he is navigated by a remote control, just like a toy car. For Leni, all of that is part of her normal life. For her classmates, however, it is extremely strange.

Markus Dietrich was born in 1979 in Strausberg. He has been studying Media Design at the Bauhaus University Weimar since 2002. His films include: the shorts Sag mir wo du stehst (2003), Flieg mich zum Mond (2004), Auf der Landstrasse (2005), Samis Geschenk (2006), Outsourcing (2007), and Mein Robodad (2008). He also works as a director with children and young adults at the Thalia Theater Halle/Saale.
