Invincibles, The (Sieger, Die)
During a police assignment, police officer Karl Simon thinks he recognises his friend and former Special Patrol Group colleague Heinz Schaefer. Four years have passed since Schaefer beat his mentally handicapped baby girl to death and then took his own life. Simon believes that Schaefer is still alive and now working as an agent under an assumed name. At the same time, secretary of state Dessaul uncovers a case of corruption involving several top-level politicians. Dessaul is kidnapped. Believing that Schaefer carried out the attack, Simon sets about putting Schaefer out of action and freeing Dessaul.
Dominik Graf was born in 1952 in Munich. After initially studying German and Musical Sciences, he studied at the University of Television & Film in Munich in 1974. He received the Bavarian Film Award for his graduation film DER KOSTBARE GAST (1979). He has played a decisive role in developing the profile of the TV series DER FAHNDER and has alternated regularly between film and TV productions. In 1988, he received a German Film Award for his thriller DIE KATZE (1987). His film SPIELER (1990) was shown at Venice in 1990.
