Smilla´s Sense Of Snow (Fraeulein Smillas Gespuer fuer Schnee)

Isaiah is dead. The little boy fell from the roof of the block of flats. An accident that doesnÍt really concern anyone. Only Smilla Jasperson (Julia Ormond), mourns for him. Smilla was the only "friendÒ Isaiah had had. He had come with his mother from Greenland and never really felt at home in the strange big city of Copenhagen. Smilla also knows: it wasnÍt an accident, it was murder. SmillaÍs mother was also a Greenlander. As she was particularly fond of the boy and feels a special affiinity to the people of the Arctic through her mother, she begins her own investigations. For nobody gives credence to her suspicions. Moreover, her plan soon looks like it will be a difficult one. First of all, she has to overcome the mistrust of IsaiahÍs mother Juliane who wanders around the streets of Copenhagen. And the authorities also disapprove of her taking her own initiative and get in her way. But Smilla is determined to find out the truth ...
