The Ruhr region in the year 2007. A chippie at the end of the world. No customers, no work, no future. Haenschen took the snack bar over from his father. He works there with his sister Carmen, who's dressed up to the nines, his feeble-minded cousin Pauli and the bargee who still tries to scrub the shop spick and span. A hippy commune has settled in their neighborhood, and its members spend the whole day competing with each other in the practice of "free love". But, unfortunately, they are supposed to clear their campsite so that the whole valley can be flooded with water for a planned reservoir. A spaceship from a distant planet then crashes into this "idyll". Right into the vegetable garden of the meditating dropouts. The mysterious intruders pitch their tents between the vegetarians and the run-down snack bar. Bad news for a traveling rep for sausage slicing machines who has been trying to palm the end of a line off onto the snack bar staff.
