Jan Zabeil was born in 1981 in Berlin. He studied Cinematography at the University of Film and Television ‘Konrad Wolf’ in Potsdam from 2003-2009. With his short films L.H.O. (2007) and WAS WEISS DER TROPFEN DAVON (2007) he received several awards at national and international festivals. THE RIVER USED TO BE A MAN (DER FLUSS WAR EINST EIN MENSCH, 2011) is his feature film debut.
Kristof Kannegiesser was born in 1977 in Halle/Saale. During his studies of German Literature and Journalism in Berlin from 2000-2005, he also worked as assistant DoP, writer and director. Since 2005, he has been studying Directing at the Filmakademie Baden-Wuerttemberg. His films include: Dunkle Nacht (2000), Das Maerchen vom Hochzeitstag (2003), Klopfzeichen (2004), Wiebke (2004), Lieber Onkel Werner (2005), and L.H.O. (2007).
