Specific Characteristics The winner of the short film competition automatically qualifies for the OSCAR competition for the Best Short Film.Evaluation One of the largest festivals worldwide for animated films and well-received by the press, audience and filmmakers. In cooperation with the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg (which has a long tradition in animation film), and the regional film fund MFG Baden-Württemberg, the festival provides a meeting ground for animation professionals and newcomers. Well-received new initiatives like the FMX, the Animation Production Day and the Animation Coproduction Forum Eastern Europe further establish the festival as one of the most important events of this kind worldwide.
