German actor Elyas M’Barek has been named as one of „Variety’s 10 Actors to Watch: Breakthrough Performers 2012”, who will be presented at the Hamptons International Film Festival.
Number of Films Shown approx. 120 films (70 feature-length and 50 shorts) from 20 different countries
Media Coverage approx. 110 journalists from tv, radio and print outlets; support from local Long Island media and New York city community; International Trades include Variety, Hollywood Reporter, Screen International, Film Echo, etc.
Specific Characteristics The winner of the short film competition automatically qualifies for the OSCAR competition for the Best Short Film.Evaluation Over the past few years, the festival has become one of the more important US events and it offers an excellent opportunity to evaluate a film for the US market. Due to the closeness to New York City a large number of buyers and distributors attend the festival. The International Forum hosts international film export agencies and distributors for building promotional partnerships to support US distribution of their films.
Technical equipment International House: Working in conjunction with film export unions and distributors, the festival is building promotional partnerships that support US distribution and OSCAR campaigns.
