Evaluation The focus of the European Program is clearly on films from France, Italy and the English-speaking countries. Represents an effort to show both current productions and film classics to an interested public, backed up by discussions with attending filmmakers, all during one long weekend.
Also offers a forum for young directors from the surrounding area of Lower Franconia, and gets youth involved in the festival through the presentation of workshops. In the last years the festival had invited top European directors such as Bernardo Bertolucci, Maurice Pialat, Bruce Beresford, J.M. Straub, Eric Rohmer and the Taviani Brothers.
