German Films Go North! 5th Festival of German films in Copenhagen (24 – 27 November 2008) and Stockholm (5 – 7 December 2008)
2008-11-20
Our Scandinavia tour will begin this year in Copenhagen on 24 November with CLOUD 9 (WOLKE 9). Director Andreas Dresen will be attending in person on the opening evening to introduce his film to the public and press. The opening film is joined by screenings of TO FARO (MEIN FREUND AUS FARO) by Nana Neul, DR. ALEMÁN by Tom Schreiber, JERICHOW by Christian Petzold, IN BETWEEN DAYS (DIE BESUCHERIN) by Lola Randl, FOOTBALL UNDER COVER by Ayat Najafi/David Assmann and THE STRANGER IN ME (DAS FREMDE IN MIR) by Emily Atef.
JERICHOW will open the festival in Stockholm on 5 December. We are very pleased that the lead actor Benno Fuermann has announced that he will be attending the opening and that Andreas Dresen will also be in Stockholm to present his film CLOUD 9 (WOLKE 9). In addition, the Swedish audiences can look forward to LOVE LIFE by Maria Schrader, DR. ALEMÁN by Tom Schreiber, CHIKO by Oezgur Yildirim and IN BETWEEN DAYS (DIE BESUCHERIN) by Lola Randl.
This year, Stockholm will also see another meeting being organised with Swedish distributors for an exchange of views about their respective film markets.
Our short films program NEXT GENERATION 2008 will be shown again this year at the film school in Denmark, while there will be screenings in regular cinemas in Sweden. In this way, we will be able to reach the local students directly and give them an insight into the working methods of the German film students.
